Become a tester

Three steps, in order. The first two only take a moment, and they are what lets Google Play give you the app.

1

Become a tester

Join the testers group with the same Google account you use on your phone. Google Play checks this list before it will show you the app.

Join the testers group
Opens Google Groups · use your phone's Google account
2

Accept the test on Google Play

Once you have joined the group, open this page and tap Become a tester. Do this before step 3 or the Play listing will say the app is unavailable.

Accept the test on Google Play
Opens play.google.com · tap “Become a tester”
3

Install from Google Play

Now the store listing will open normally and install like any other app — with automatic updates from then on.

Or don’t wait

Download the app directly

If you would rather not go through Google Play, install the signed release yourself. It is the same build — you just won’t get automatic updates.

Download for Android · v1.0.193
Android only · 115.8 MB · signed release build

Installing it yourself

  1. Tap Download for Android above, on the phone itself.
  2. Open the downloaded file. Android will ask whether to allow installs from this source — that prompt is normal for any app not installed through the Play Store. Approve it.
  3. Tap Install, then open TRW Bible.

Two honest caveats. This route gives you no automatic updates — you would come back here for the next version. And Play Protect may warn you about an app installed outside the Play Store; that warning is about how it arrived, not about what it contains. If you would rather not see either, use the three steps above.

To check you got the real file, compare its SHA-256 against the value printed above.
